Captain Kathy Granfield
Captain Kathy Granfield is a licensed US Coast Guard OUPV Captain and the founder of VA Charters.
She holds a B.S. in Animal Science from UConn and an M.S. in Environmental Education from Southern CT State. She spent several years working in research laboratories at the Yale School of Medicine and the Regional Water Authority before taking on her current career in science education.
Kathy runs fishing charters on the Black Mariah, a downeast custom built by Wilbur Yachts in Southwest Harbor, Maine.
Captain Tom Bremer
Captain Tom Bremer currently holds a 200 Ton Master Near Coastal credential and is a 10-year veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
Following active duty service, Captain Bremer transitioned into the commercial maritime industry.
Captain Bremer holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the State University of New York and a M.S. in Environmental Science from Virginia Tech.
Captain Shawn Tibbetts
Captain Shawn Tibbetts has been an avid outdoorsman since birth. Growing up in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire and Western Maine helped to fuel his love of the outdoors.
He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps and, upon returning to civilian life, he began his charter fishing business (Maine Tuna Fishing) in Saco, Maine.
Captain Tibbetts is one of VAC’s most active captains, taking veterans fishing on his charter vessel Miss Megan II.
Joseph Esposito
Joseph Esposito is a managing attorney at Franchise World Headquarters, LLC, the service organization for Subway restaurants in Milford, Connecticut.
He holds J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Connecticut.
